He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural session of the Global Health Security Summit here on Wednesday. For the first time in history, a 2-day Global Health Security Summit was held in Pakistan. Top health experts, health ministers, delegates and delegations from more than 70 countries participated in the summit. A documentary on health was also shown to the delegates during the summit.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar said that it is an honor for Pakistan to hold the first Global Health Security Summit. I welcome all the delegates to participate. Global health security is a big challenge of the present time. This summit is a proof that the health sector of any country is connected to the whole world. The Prime Minister said that the establishment of an international network of health laboratories and the best measures and resources in the health sector would emerge from benefiting each other.
In addition, promotion of regulation, quality and communication for food safety is a shared responsibility. He said that the world has to play a responsible role regarding human health. All owners have a responsibility to provide a healthy and safe environment for their citizens. He said that history will reward our actions, this global health security summit will play an important role in formulating proposals for the problems of the health sector and their solutions.
Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani while addressing the ceremony said that he welcomes the delegates from all over the world. The Global Health Security Summit will definitely produce positive results. He said that Corona Covid-19 has made billions of people unemployed. Millions of people lost their lives due to Corona. He said that WHO played an important role for flood-affected areas of Pakistan. Effective measures are being taken for the improvement of the health sector.
